Govt. to speed up broadband penetration.

Contrast India with HongKong. Agreed, the two are not the same, but, if Dayandhi Maran's exhortation regarding roaming charges levied by telcos could have immediate effect, why not something similar in the broadband arena?

Most expensive Internet access is here in India.

Take the HutchAccess service from Hutch. Pay Rs 199 per month plus, and here comes the big one, 50 paise per 10kB of data transfer. My maths makes this Rs 51.20 per MB of data transfer!

Somebody has to be real desperate to use this service. Or, really whacko.
